Представники Київського національного університету імені Тараса Шевченка офіційно підписали Велику хартію університетів-2020 (Magna Charta Universitatum 2020).

Урочисту процедуру було проведено в залі для офіційних делегацій головного навчального корпусу КНУ імені Тараса Шевченка. Від імені Університету підписанткою цього важливого документа виступила проректорка з науково-педагогічної роботи (міжнародне співробітництво) Ксенія Смирнова.

Magna Charta Universitatum 2020 є оновленням до попереднього документа, укладеного з нагоди відзначення 900-тої річниці від заснування Болонського університету. Київський національний університет виступав підписантом попередньої версії міжуніверситетської хартії, а цьогоріч, підписанням Великої хартії університетів-2020, засвідчив відданість кращим освітнім принципам і традиціям.

У вітальній промові з нагоди підписання Magna Charta Universitatum 2020 проректорка Ксенія Смирнова відзначила: «Нова Велика хартія університетів 2020 так само базується на принципах академічної свободи й автономії, а також закликає учасників освітнього процесу якнайретельніше дотримуватися цінностей освітянської та наукової спільноти. Оновлення цього важливого документа свідчить про докорінну потребу реагувати на сучасні виклики в царині вищої освіти. Підписанти Великої хартії університетів, у колі яких – і Київський національний університет імені Тараса Шевченка як провідний український заклад вищої освіти, вітають трансформацію діяльності сучасних університетів під впливом культурних особливостей розвитку держав, із огляду на перебіг історичних подій у регіоні, географічне й геополітичне положення країн!».

Окрім офіційної процедури, упродовж 16–17 червня 2021 року представниками світової університетської спільноти було організовано тематичну міжнародну конференцію «Університетські цінності та відповідальність: кроки та виклики майбутнього». Із нагоди проведення такого важливого заходу в провідних українських ЗВО тривали консультації щодо остаточного тексту Magna Charta Universitatum 2020 й провадилися процедури підписання цього офіційного освітнього документа. До роботи конференції долучилася й проректорка Ксенія Смирнова, тож розвиток вищої освіти в КНУ імені Тараса Шевченка й надалі успішно поєднуватиме кращі національні та закордонні методики й традиції навчання.

Довідково: Magna Charta Universitatum – документ, уперше підписаний 18 вересня 1988 року, на честь 900-річчя Болонського університету. Підписантами вихідної версії документа виступили 388 ректорів і керівників світових університетів. Із огляду на цифровізацію й глобалізацію сучасного освітнього простору, у 2019 році було вирішено оновити текст Хартії. Процедури збору й опрацювання пропозицій від представників провідних університетів світу (як підписантів попередньої версії документа) тривали упродовж 2019–2021 років, а вже в червні поточного року Велику хартію університетів-2020 було ухвалено у її фінальній редакції.

Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv is a signatory of the renewed Magna Charta Universitatum

The representatives of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv

have officially signed Magna Charta Universitatum 2020.

A solemn ceremony was held in the hall for official delegations of the main academic building of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. On behalf of the university vice-rector for scientific and pedagogical work (international cooperation) Kseniya Smyrnova became a signatory of that significant document.

Magna Charta Universitatum 2020 is the update of the previous document adopted to commemorate the 900th anniversary of the foundation of the University of Bologna. Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv was a signatory of the previous version of the intercollegiate charter and this year the university has confirmed its commitment to the best educational principles and traditions through the signing of Magna Charta Universitatum 2020.   

In a congratulatory speech to mark the occasion of the signing of Magna Charta Universitatum 2020 vice-rector Kseniya Smyrnova remarked: «A new Magna Charta Universitatum 2020 is based in the same way as the previous one on the principles of academic freedom and autonomy and it also calls upon the participants of the educational process to abide by the values of educational and scientific community as thorough as possible. The update of that significant document emphasizes a fundamental need to respond to modern challenges in the realm of higher education. The signatories of Magna Charta Universitatum including Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv as a prominent Ukrainian institution of higher education welcome the transformation of the activities of modern universities influenced by the cultural peculiarities of the development of states, considering a historical record of events in the region, geographical and geopolitical position of countries!».   

Except for the official procedure, the representatives of the global university community organized a thematic international conference «The university values and responsibility: steps and future challenges» on 16-17 June 2021. On the occasion of such an important event consultations regarding the final text of Magna Charta Universitatum 2020 were held in Ukrainian institutions of higher education and procedures of signing that official educational document were conducted. Vice-rector Kseniya Smyrnova participated in the work of the conference. Consequently, the development of higher education in Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv will continue to successfully combine the best national and foreign methodologies and traditions of education. 

For reference: Magna Charta Universitatum is a document that was first signed on 18 September 1998 to mark the 900th anniversary of the University of Bologna.  338 rectors and heads of world universities were the signatories of the original version of the document. Considering the digitalization and globalization of a modern educational space, the decision to renew the text of Magna Charta Universitatum was made in 2019. The procedures of collecting and processing the proposals from the representatives of leading global universities (as the signatories of the previous version of the document) lasted from 2019 to 2021, and in June of the current year Magna Charta Universitatum 2020 was adopted as a final document.
