Andrii Gozhyk
Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Candidate of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences, Associate Professor

Born on December 14, 1962, in the urban-type settlement of Hoshcha, Rivne Region, Ukraine, in a family of teachers. In 1984, he graduated from the Faculty of Geology of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv State University, majoring in Geophysical Methods of Prospecting and Exploration of Mineral Deposits, and obtained the qualification of Geophysical Engineer.
From 1992 to 1994, he pursued postgraduate studies at the Department of Geophysics of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. In 1994, he defended his Candidate of Sciences dissertation entitled “Physical Properties of Granitoids of the Inhulo-Inhulets Region of the Ukrainian Shield and Their Use in Paleogeodynamic Analysis and Metallogenic Forecasting.”
Since 1984, he has worked at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, progressing from engineer and junior research fellow to senior research fellow at the Problem Research Laboratory of Physico-Chemical Studies of Rocks.
From 2001 to 2004, he served as Assistant Professor at the Department of Mineralogy, Geochemistry and Petrography. From 2004 to 2021, he was Associate Professor at the same department.
From 2004 to 2007, he concurrently served as Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs of the Faculty of Geology. From 2007 to 2010, he was Deputy Director of the Scientific and Methodological Center for Educational Process Organization. From 2011 to 2021, he served as Director of the Scientific and Methodological Center for Educational Process Organization. Since 2021, he has held the position of Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Associate Professor at the Department of Mineralogy, Geochemistry and Petrography of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Geology.
Associate Professor Gozhyk is a specialist in petrophysics, geochemistry and petrography of granitoids of the Ukrainian Shield, paleogeodynamic analysis, metallogenic forecasting, and environmental geology.
He actively participates in international Erasmus+ projects, including DESTIN, QUAERE, ECOIMPACT, and CLUVEX. He serves as Coordinator of the Higher Education Sector of the Scientific and Methodological Council of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and as Chair of the University’s Scientific and Methodological Council. He has extensive experience in developing higher education standards, implementing competency-based approaches, and building quality assurance systems in higher education institutions.
He has completed academic training and professional development programs at leading universities in the United Kingdom (including Bath Spa University), Germany (University of Konstanz), as well as within the frameworks of the British Council, German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), and Erasmus+ programmes.
He is the author of more than 80 scientific and educational publications, including monographs, textbooks, and teaching manuals on geology, petrophysics, environmental geology, and quality assurance in higher education.
For his contribution to the development of science, higher education, and the strengthening of state institutions, Associate Professor Gozhyk has received numerous state, departmental, and public awards. Among the highest state honors is the honorary title “Honored Education Worker of Ukraine.” He has also been awarded numerous certificates and distinctions from the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
He is fluent in Ukrainian, French, and English.
