What documents are required for admission?

For admission to the Preparatory Department and for admission to study for a bachelor's degree (master's degree in medicine):

• application form;
• questionnaire;
• foreign national passport or other document certifying statelessness with a D-13 visa for countries with a visa entry procedure, issued by Ukrainian consular offices abroad on the basis of invitations to study, unless otherwise provided by international agreements of Ukraine (original and 4 copies of the translation into Ukrainian with notarization in Ukraine);
• document on the level of education obtained, on the basis of which admission is carried out (complete secondary education) (original and 2 copies with translation into Ukrainian and notarization in Ukraine);
• Appendix to the document confirming the level of education on the basis of which admission is granted (list of subjects studied) (original and 2 copies with translation into Ukrainian and notarization in Ukraine);
• 10 matte photographs, 3x4 cm in size;
• Consent to the collection and processing of personal data.

To apply for admission to a master's degree program:

• Appendix to the document confirming the level of education obtained, on the basis of which admission is carried out (list of subjects studied) (original and 2 copies with translation into Ukrainian and notarization in Ukraine);
• document confirming the level of education obtained, on the basis of which admission is carried out (complete secondary education) (original and 2 copies with translation into Ukrainian and notarization in Ukraine);
• 10 matte photographs, 3x4 cm in size;
• consent to the collection and processing of personal data.

If available, copies and originals of the following documents must be submitted:

• permanent or temporary residence permit in Ukraine, immigration permit to Ukraine, diplomatic card of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, or other document confirming the right to stay in Ukraine;
• certificate from the tax service assigning a taxpayer registration number.

All documents issued in other countries must be translated into Ukrainian with a notarized translation in Ukraine.

In the case of remote admission, the foreigner sends legalized and notarized copies of documents on previous education to the educational institution by mail. When crossing the state border of Ukraine for the first time and upon arrival at the educational institution, the foreigner submits the original documents in person.

The originals of the passport, residence permit, and tax service certificate are checked when the documents are submitted.

Procedure for legalization and apostille

Educational documents issued abroad must be certified and legalized in accordance with the established procedure, unless otherwise provided by international treaties of Ukraine. Citizens of countries that are parties to the Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalization for Foreign Public Documents (The Hague, 1961) are exempt from legalization of these documents with the affixing of an apostille. Documents issued in countries that are parties to the Convention on Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil, Family, and Criminal Matters (Minsk, 1993) do not require legalization or apostille.

The procedure for preparing a package of documents for the recognition of educational level The document for the purpose of continuing education is carried out by Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv before the start of the holder's studies or during the first month of study. The applicant may also independently initiate the process of recognition of their educational documents and provide a certificate of completion of the recognition procedure. If available, the applicant shall submit a copy of the certificate of recognition or a copy of the certificate of submission for recognition to the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine when submitting documents for study. Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv ensures control over the deadlines for the submission of documents by foreigners for the recognition procedure.

Foreign citizens and stateless persons who have obtained documents on their previous level of education in educational institutions of Ukraine are not subject to the procedure for recognition of previous education documents.
